Signalware SP (signaling services platform) is the foundation of Ulticom’s Application-Ready product line, which provides the critical infrastructure for creation and deployment of fixed, mobile, and converged network services.
The value and potential of location-enabled services is emerging with the adoption of mobile broadband. ULTICOM JOINS WIRELESS LEADERS TO LAUNCH THE VoLGA VOICE OVER LTE INITIATIVE
Ulticom has joined a group of industry leaders including Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Huawei, Kineto Wireless, LG Electronics, Motorola, Nortel, Samsung, Starent Networks, T-Mobile and ZTE, in a joint effort referred to as the Voice over LTE via Generic Access – or VoLGA – Forum.
VoLGA is a technological approach for delivering mobile voice and messaging services over LTE access networks based upon the current 3GPP Generic Access Network (GAN) standard.
The VoLGA Forum seeks to enable mobile operators to deliver these traditional wireless services over LTE radio access networks, utilizing the same core networks they use today to support voice services on 2G/GSM and 3G/UMTS radio access networks.
The VoLGA Forum leverages its members’ technical skills to define and publish VoLGA specifications. These specifications are designed to facilitate the easy adoption of VoLGA technology by vendors and operators. The group is open to interested parties in the mobile community.
